Titled with an oblique, surrealistic, word-play reference to contemporary, modern and even traditional art, the exhibition features all three art categories whose meanings are inevitably interpreted, concurrently questioned and nearly always personally realized as subjective. Surrealism and word-play regularly surface in Frisch’s art, as seen in the image and title of his pen and ink drawing “God Creating Landscape Architecture”. In addition to ceramic art from Becca Licha, Frisch is including art from five of his own unique series along with one piece of art each from 12 OCCCA artists. EXTREME MODERATION runs from September 2 through September 23, 2023. An open-to-the-public artists’ reception will be held at OCCCA from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023.
